1. Acceptance and scope

By creating a FreePass account, you expressly accept these Terms. Browsing public pages does not by itself create a publisher partnership or promise access to any third-party content.

2. Nature of the service

FreePass is an identity, consent and demand infrastructure service. It is not a newspaper, publisher, payment service, subscription reseller or guarantee that any publisher will participate.

3. “FreePass” does not mean free content

The word “pass” refers to a reusable identity and access relationship. Publishers remain free to set prices, subscriptions, paywalls, entitlements and access conditions.

4. Reader accounts and requests

You must provide accurate account information and protect your credentials. A request for a publisher records your stated interest; it is not a purchase, subscription, petition signature or guarantee of future availability.

5. Demand signals and methodology

FreePass may publish aggregated request counts, verified-intent counts and related methodology. These signals describe the FreePass population reached and must not be interpreted as representative polling of the general population. Anti-fraud review may exclude or delay suspicious activity.

6. Publisher names, pages and statuses

A publisher may appear in the catalogue or on a public demand page without being affiliated with FreePass. “Requested” means readers requested it. “Contact initiated” means FreePass contacted it. “In discussion” is used only with publisher agreement. “Pilot” and “Available” are used only when factually supported.

7. Publisher claims

A person claiming a publisher page must be authorized to represent that publisher and provide truthful professional information. FreePass may verify professional email, domain control or other evidence before granting publisher access.

8. Accepted publisher offers and public proof

When a publisher expressly accepts an offer, pilot or written commercial arrangement, it authorizes FreePass to state the approved participation status and, to the extent expressly supplied or approved by the publisher, display its professional contact coordinates, website links and approved participation information as evidence that the relationship is genuine. This does not authorize publication of private personal contact details or confidential negotiations. Any broader use of names, logos or marks requires the rights or approvals applicable to that use.

9. Privacy and reader data

Personal information is handled under the Privacy Policy. Publishers do not receive a universal cross-site reader identifier. Individual reader profiles are not sold as the launch business model. A publisher receives personal information only where a valid purpose and legal basis apply, including distinct consent where required.

10. Intellectual property

FreePass content, software and branding remain protected by applicable intellectual-property rights. Publisher names, marks and content remain the property of their respective owners. Nominative catalogue references do not imply endorsement.

11. Prohibited use

You may not abuse, scrape at disruptive scale, circumvent security, submit fraudulent demand, impersonate a publisher representative, attack the service, interfere with metrics or use FreePass to violate applicable law or third-party rights.

12. Availability and changes

FreePass is an evolving laboratory-stage service. Features, publisher status and integrations may change, be suspended or end. Material legal-policy changes will be dated and presented through the site.

13. Disclaimer and liability

To the extent permitted by mandatory law, FreePass is provided without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability, publisher participation, content access, commercial results or demand conversion. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

14. Suspension

FreePass may restrict or suspend accounts or requests reasonably associated with fraud, security threats, impersonation, unlawful activity or material breach of these Terms, subject to applicable law.

15. Governing law and forum

Subject to mandatory laws that cannot be waived, these Terms and disputes relating to FreePass are governed by the laws of Québec and the applicable laws of Canada, and the parties submit to the courts of the judicial district of Montréal, Québec, Canada.

16. Language

The French version of these Terms is the sole authoritative and legally controlling version. Any English, German, Spanish or Portuguese translation is provided solely for convenience and does not replace the French text.

17. Contact

Legal notices may be sent to legal@freepass.news. Privacy requests must use the contact published in the Privacy Policy.
